Sworn Translation Service

Certified sworn translation (traducao juramentada) of Brazilian documents into English or Arabic by Junta Comercial-registered translators, meeting both Itamaraty and UAE embassy requirements.

Brazilian documents must be translated by a Tradutor Juramentado (sworn translator) for official acceptance in the UAE. Green Apple Attest coordinates with registered sworn translators across Brazil to provide legally valid Portuguese-to-English translations that are recognized by UAE courts, immigration authorities, and licensing bodies.

Brazil requires that all official translations of legal, educational, and commercial documents be performed by a Tradutor Juramentado — a translator officially commissioned by a Brazilian state's Board of Trade (Junta Comercial). Unlike regular certified translations, sworn translations carry the full legal weight of the Brazilian state and are the only form of translation accepted by Itamaraty and, subsequently, by UAE authorities for documents originating from Brazil.

The sworn translation requirement creates a specific challenge for Brazilians in the UAE: you cannot simply have your documents translated by any certified translator. The translation must be performed by a Tradutor Juramentado registered in Brazil, and the translated document must bear the translator's official seal and registration number. UAE authorities verify these credentials and reject translations that do not meet Brazilian legal standards.

Green Apple Attest works with a network of registered Tradutores Juramentados across Brazil, covering Portuguese-to-English and Portuguese-to-Arabic translations. We match your document type with a translator who specializes in that field — legal documents, academic credentials, corporate records — to ensure accurate terminology and formatting. The translation is completed, sealed, and can then proceed through the Itamaraty legalization chain alongside the original document.

This service is available as a standalone translation or as part of our Full Brazilian Authentication Chain package. For clients who need both authentication and translation, we coordinate the sequencing to ensure the translation is completed at the right stage in the chain, as some UAE authorities require the translation before legalization and others after.

Questions & Answers

Frequently asked questions

A Tradutor Juramentado is a translator officially commissioned by a Brazilian state's Junta Comercial (Board of Trade) to produce legally binding translations. Their translations carry the same legal validity as the original document in Brazil. UAE authorities require this specific type of translation for Brazilian documents — regular certified translations are not accepted.

No. Brazilian documents must be translated by a Tradutor Juramentado registered in Brazil. UAE-based translators, even if they are native Portuguese speakers with legal translation certifications, do not have the Brazilian state commission required for these translations to be legally valid.

Standard sworn translations take 5-10 business days depending on the document's length and complexity. Technical documents (medical, legal, engineering) may take longer due to specialized terminology. Green Apple Attest provides a timeline estimate after reviewing your specific document.

This depends on the requirements of the UAE authority receiving the document. Some require the translation to be legalized by Itamaraty alongside the original, while others accept the sworn translation separately. Green Apple Attest confirms the correct sequence with your UAE authority before processing.

Yes. Green Apple Attest works with Tradutores Juramentados who are registered for Portuguese-to-Arabic translation. This is particularly useful for documents being submitted to UAE courts or government entities that require Arabic-language submissions.
