Birth Certificate Apostille

Kazakh birth certificate apostille and UAE attestation for family visas, dependant sponsorship and school admission.

Kazakh birth certificates are issued by the civil registry and apostilled through the Ministry of Justice. UAE bodies asking for one are usually processing a dependant visa, a school admission or a sponsorship file. Two things decide how smoothly it goes: whether the certificate predates 1991, which usually adds an archival confirmation step, and whether the child's name is transliterated on the certificate exactly as it appears in the passport. Once the apostilled document reaches us, the UAE side — attestation, any required translation and delivery — is handled end to end.

Required Documents

Documents required

  • 01 Original or recent certified copy of the birth certificate
  • 02 Issue date, so pre-1991 records can be routed correctly
  • 03 Passport copy of the document holder, for name spelling
  • 04 Emirates ID copy where the document is for UAE use
Important Notes

Special requirements

Please note
  • § Kazakhstan has no single apostille office. Civil registry records and notarial instruments are apostilled by the Ministry of Justice, academic documents by the ministry responsible for higher education, and criminal record certificates through the Prosecutor General's Committee on Legal Statistics and Special Records. A document submitted to the wrong authority is returned unprocessed.
  • § Certificates issued before 1991 were issued by Kazakh SSR authorities. They remain valid, but the issuing office no longer exists in the same form and the apostille route commonly runs through the state archives for confirmation first.
  • § Kazakh documents are issued in Kazakh, Russian or both, and the Kazakh language is moving from Cyrillic to Latin script in phases. Documents issued years apart can spell the same name differently. UAE authorities match against the passport, so the passport spelling governs every translation in the file.

Questions & Answers

Frequently asked questions

No. The UAE is not a party to the Apostille Convention, so it is not bound to accept an apostille by itself. A Kazakh document is apostilled at home and then legalised for the UAE, in that order. This is the most common misunderstanding we correct on Kazakh files.

It changes the route rather than the validity. Pre-1991 certificates remain valid, but the issuing office no longer exists in the same form, so confirmation from the state archives is commonly needed before an apostille can be affixed. Tell us the issue date at intake.

Very common, and worth fixing before anything is translated. Kazakh names pass through Cyrillic, Latin and Arabic, and each transliteration allows several defensible spellings. UAE authorities match against the passport, so send us the passport at the outset and every document in the file will be produced to match it.

Usually yes, by a UAE-licensed legal translator, and after the apostille rather than before. A translation produced beforehand will not carry the apostille stamp and has to be redone at full cost.
