Spanish university qualifications carry weight with UAE employers and licensing bodies, but only once the Título Universitario itself is apostilled — a graduation letter or a transcript alone will not do. If the qualification is heading for Ministry of Education equivalency, the apostilled degree and the academic transcript are assessed together, so it is worth preparing both at once rather than discovering the gap two months in. Special requirements
- § Spain has no single apostille office. Judicial and criminal-record documents go through the Ministerio de Justicia, notarial instruments through the regional Colegio Notarial, and administrative or academic documents through the relevant government delegation or education authority. A document submitted to the wrong body is returned unprocessed.
- § Qualifications from private or non-university institutions may require prior verification by the awarding body or the education authority of the autonomous community before an apostille can be affixed. Public university titles are more direct.

The Título Universitario itself is what gets apostilled. A transcript or graduation letter alone is not accepted as the qualification document, though transcripts are needed alongside it for Ministry of Education equivalency.
The apostilled degree is a prerequisite for equivalency, not the whole of it — the Ministry assesses the programme itself and writes to the issuing university. Preparing the degree and transcripts together saves a round trip.
Usually yes, by a UAE-licensed legal translator, and always after the apostille — a translation made beforehand will not carry the apostille stamp and has to be redone at full cost.
