University Diploma and Supplement Apostille

Apostille of Kazakh diplomas and academic supplements for UAE employment, licensing and Ministry of Education equivalency.

Kazakh higher education qualifications are recognised by UAE employers and licensing bodies once apostilled, but the diploma alone is rarely sufficient. The supplement — the separate document listing subjects, hours and grades — is what an employer or the Ministry of Education actually assesses, and it needs its own apostille. Preparing both together avoids sending someone back to Kazakhstan for the half that was missed. Once the apostilled document reaches us, the UAE side — attestation, any required translation and delivery — is handled end to end.

Important Notes

Special requirements

Please note
  • § Kazakhstan has no single apostille office. Civil registry records and notarial instruments are apostilled by the Ministry of Justice, academic documents by the ministry responsible for higher education, and criminal record certificates through the Prosecutor General's Committee on Legal Statistics and Special Records. A document submitted to the wrong authority is returned unprocessed.
  • § A diploma and its supplement are separate documents and each needs its own apostille. The supplement carries the subjects and grades that employers and the Ministry of Education assess, so a diploma apostilled alone is usually insufficient.
  • § Kazakh documents are issued in Kazakh, Russian or both, and the Kazakh language is moving from Cyrillic to Latin script in phases. Documents issued years apart can spell the same name differently. UAE authorities match against the passport, so the passport spelling governs every translation in the file.

Questions & Answers

Frequently asked questions

No. The UAE is not a party to the Apostille Convention, so it is not bound to accept an apostille by itself. A Kazakh document is apostilled at home and then legalised for the UAE, in that order. This is the most common misunderstanding we correct on Kazakh files.

Almost always. The diploma proves the award, but the supplement carries subjects, hours and grades, and that is what employers and the Ministry of Education assess. Apostilling only the diploma means going back for the supplement later, from another country.

The apostilled diploma and supplement are a prerequisite for equivalency, not the whole of it. The Ministry assesses the programme itself and writes to the issuing institution, which is why equivalency runs on its own timetable.

Very common, and worth fixing before anything is translated. Kazakh names pass through Cyrillic, Latin and Arabic, and each transliteration allows several defensible spellings. UAE authorities match against the passport, so send us the passport at the outset and every document in the file will be produced to match it.
